[sumo] Jungyo news

Asashouryuu, who only did Butsugari-geiko and the dohyo-iri yesterday, did only shiko today, training-wise.("shiko funjatta, shiko funjatta, shiko funja funja funjatta", was the song, sung to the tune of that ditty that every beginner piano player plays only on the black keys with his knuckles), and did his Takanohana impression, i.e., did not say a word. After the shiko, he did the dohyo-iri, and immediately boarded the tour bus.
Shoes-on still hopes to have a drink with Asa, but says nothing has been arranged yet. He is looking very tired. He wants to do keiko with the Yokozuna. "But the Yokozuna is not doing any keiko because of his injury, and neither am I, so..", he said.
Today's atmosphere returned to normal at the jungyo, after yesterday's "strange" reconciliation atmosphere.
One Oyakata summed it up:" If everything will be normal on the dohyo, nobody needs any handshakes. The problem arises when the opponents don't suit each other", he said. In Japanese it sounds much better, with the wordplay between "te" and "aite". In short, he meant to say that the whole handshake "ceremony" was a male cow's bodily function.

Kyokushuuzan is planning to have a real, Mongolian-style reconciliation. After his tsukebito inadvertantly spilled the beans and said a Japanese style handshake has corners in Mongolian circles, Shoes on has it all planned out in detail. They will eat a famous Hokkaido dish called "Genghis Khan", which is made of mutton meat and vegetables.(recipe, anyone?) Then they will drink. Then they will open their hearts and air out their grievances, in a true Mongolian- style reconciliation.
Problem is, it takes two to tango. Judging from the way Asa completely ignored Shoes-on at keiko (the reporters are calling it "the cold war")
I'd wait with the guest list for now..
