Re: Re: Nickname for Wakanosato
I've always thought Kintaro's reference of "Naruto Strongman" fit
rather well.
Ozumo magazine has on occasion referred to him as "Popeye II", since
his Oyakata's nickname used to be "Popeye", and they both have those
Popeye-like huge forearms.
Construction vehicles may impart that aspect of Wakanosato's sumo
where he can throw an opponent from almost any position. So you
could have "Earthmover" or "Bulldozer".
One thing about Wakanosato is that he's a rather gentle fellow.
Former L.A. Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda gave pitcher Orel Hershiser
the nickname "Bulldog" in order to fire up his competitive spirit.
Maybe that would work for Wakanosato as well.
Those of us born in Showa 51 (1976) were born in the year of the
Dragon. Maybe they could play off that. Dragons are supposed to be
smart, noble, and dangerous. "Ryuu" and "tatsu" are the Japanese
words for dragon, and get a lot of use in shikona, so they could go
with the English version: doragon. Maybe "Naruto Doragon" or "Yangu
Doragon".
