Re: Kyokai News - April 4

As an ichidai toshiyori Takanohana can "lend" his myoseki to someone and
have that person assist him in the heya with training the rikishi and
administrative chores etc.

Kitanoumi allowed former Hachiya, the late Onogawa Oyakata, to use his
myoseki and it was he, Hachiya, who generally sat in the keikoba overseeing
the training, rather than the famous former Yokozuna.

Hachiya was from the Kasugano beya but was "loaned out" to be Kitanoumi's
tsukebito when Kitanoumi became Yokozuna, since there were not enough bodies
in the Mihogaseki beya. Apart from becoming close friends, Hachiya had a
lot of knowledge - how to prepare the yokozuna's tsuna, matters of sumo
etiquette etc - which was invaluable to the younger man.

Former Ganyu now has the Onogawa myoseki, thanks to a wife with a bit of
money and the fortuitous timing of transfer of oyakata name and voting right
just before the election which put Kitanoumi into the rijicho's seat.

Maybe Takanohana has someone in mind for a righthand man.
