The power of Sumo

The strangest thing happened yesterday.

A good friend of mine and I were both laid off in November, 
and we both found new positions this week!  My friend had 
interviewed for a job, and listed me as one of his professional 
references.  When the company called him yesterday, they said 
"We spoke with Terry (his other reference) and we looked 
at Dave's website..."  then proceeded to offer him the job!

I guess they wondered what the heck "banzuke.com" could be,
and decided to take a look.  Not sure how or why, but my sumo 
site (and the archive for this list) helped get my friend hired 
without even a phone call to me.  No, the position didn't have 
anything to do with Japan, sumo, or any other logical connection.

Good news, and a story that still has me puzzled...
