SUMO news: Mitoizumi
Nishikido Oyakata, former Sekiwake Mitoizumi, started Nishikido-beya at the
location and in the building of former Takasago-beya where he used to
belong to as an active rikishi. His brother, former Juryo Mumenosato, is
the manager of Nishikido-beya.
Mitoizumi's nickname used to be "Salt Shaker", for his well-known huge salt
throwing style.
Current Takasago-beya is in the building of former Wakamatsu-beya and when
the former Wakamatsu Oyakata became Takasago Oyakata, all Takasago-beya
people moved and joined former Wakamatsu-beya and became the new
Takasago-beya.
Current Wakamatsu Oyakata is former Sekiwake Kotonishiki, who belongs to
Sadogatake-beya.
