I assume the problem is that the MRI equipment is unable to span a
person who has an extra large girth. A clinic specializing in sumo
patients is one place where such a device might be found, but instead
of asking the clinics, you as the doctor should ask the manufacturers.
They would be the ones who could help with special requirements like
that, and they would recall which customers ordered the larger
equipment.
Computer-assisted Xray Tomography is another option, since the patient
doesn't have to pass through a coil. Extra-large installations have
been put together for scanning horses, cattle, and even elephants as I
recall. If Xray tomography is a method that would be useful in your
patient's case, that would possibly be easier to arrange.
