banzuke questions

Hello banzuke-interested,

having made my entry for Moti's GTB I'm of course still
far from certain about lots of the decisions I made and
wondering about your opinions to the following questions:

- What will be the order of Ozeki, concrete: where will Asashoryu
be ranked? In earlier cases freshly promoted Ozeki were
usually ranked before those Ozeki who had just scored mk or been
kyujo. But there's one major exception: Tochiazuma after
his promotion was ranked behind Chiyotaikai, who had been
kyujo in the basho before. Now what for Asashoryu? Number 2
among the Ozeki (before Tochiazuma, Kaio and Musoyama) or
number 5 (behind all them)?
My option is to put Asashoryu on number 2, i.e. Ozeki West.
But I don't have any reasonable explanation for the case
of Tochiazuma...

- Maegashira 1E - 2W looks very interesting: The candidates
must be Miyabiyama (KE 6-9), Tochinonada (M1E 7-8), Toki (M7E 8-7)
and Shimotori (M8W 9-6) I suppose. But in which order?
My guess is 1E Shimotori, 1W Miyabiyama, 2E Tochinonada, 2W Toki,
being anything but certain about every single of the four spots...

- Makuuchi/Juryo promotions and demotions: How many of them,
4 or 5 (i.e. Hayateumi going down or not)? And who is coming
up, and in which order? Gojoro (J1W 10-5) first and Kasuganishiki
(J4E 11-4) second seems clear, but what about Tochinohana (J1E 8-7),
Asanowaka (J2W 9-6) and Ushiomaru (J8W 13-2)?
I opted for 5 changes and the order Ushiomaru, Asanowaka, Tochinohana
among the promotions.


Let's hear what everyone else thinks about these (and other) banzuke
problems! Seems to me we haven't had such an interesting task for
GTB for quite a while!
