Re: Takasago/Wakamatsu Beya question.

Rowan:

It's up to Takasago Oyakata, former Ozeki Asashio, and the rikishi himself.

When Takasago Oyakata was an active rikishi, he belonged to Takasago-beya.
His shikona "Asashio" is a huge shikona for Takasago-beya.
I think he is very poud of his shikona and happy to give his "asa" character
to his new rikishi. I think that is why he have given "asa" character to
virtually all new rikishi he recruited.

The oldest rikishi Ichinoya was became a rikishi under the guidance of
former Sekiwake Fusanishiki. And he retained his own shikona even after
current Takasago Oyakata took over Wakamatsu-beya.

My prediction on this issue is that Takasago Oyakata will keep giving
"asa" character to his new rikishi, before the young rikishi is listed on
a new banzuke.
