Re: [Dumb Questions] While dining out...

On a visit to Japan last month, I bought a few bottles of 'World Cup Sake'
made by a company called 'Ozeki', to bring bacj to England as omiage for
friends. The kanji for 'Ozeki' appears to be the same as the sumo one, so I
guess there must be some link.

At my favorite sushi bar, while getting my yutaka of
unagi, I ordered the hot sake. On this menu it was
listed as OZEKI. I had to ask the sushi chef, who is
Japanese-American, if there was a connection to ozumo.
He asked me what ozumo was! In fact, there were no
fans of wrestling there at all! So, feeling like a
gaijin in my hometown, I finished and left for home.

Has anyone come across this usage of ozeki?
Is there a yokozuna sake?
Are we alone in the universe?

Inquisitively,
Unagiyutaka
