In Nagoya, certainly. I don't get to Fukuoka often enough to be certain.
It's a long way to go for a weekend. But according to the last few years of
programs, the Osaka Tozaikai is the only one that presents sansho prizes
and a banner to the champion. In that final spot in some of the other
places, a local newspaper is responsible for one kind of prize or another.

Of all the sansho winners past and present, I can't imagine why you would
guess Kaio, who I think is the only sansho winner in Tomozuna-beya. I met
him at Kyokushuzan's wedding and we had a pleasant chat, but I would
certainly not claim him as a friend.
The friend I was referring to was, I think, the first of the Nichidai
sumotori not to join a heya in the Asagaya group. I have been in his
heya's koenkai for around 25 years, and during his active career I was a
member of his personal koenkai as well. He is now a judge. OK, all you sumo
experts, WHO IS HE? (my money's on Stefan or Achim, with a place bet on
Moti except that he's been busy with Passover)
Best wishes,
