Sumo World Issues

For anyone who happens to be in Tokyo this month, there will be an informal
and surprise meeting with Clyde Newton at the Foreign Press Club. This will
be an evening meeting. The date is yet to be determined. Contact me if you
wish to attend. This is an ideal chance to voice your points to Clyde in
person, and decide for yourself what type of person he is or he isn't.

For anyone that cannot make this meeting, I will gladly facilitate any
requests to meet Clyde face-to-face. Contact me directly - 090-3575-1604.

Note that the Jan. issue is shipping late, as you may have noticed, and will
be free, so all subscribers can expect one additional issue added to their
remaining subscription.

Sure there are heaps of problems with Sumo World, I freely admit it. I have
been a devoted reader of this hobby magazine for over 12 years. Before the
Internet, it was the best source of misspelled sumo information in the world.
Today with the Internet, it doesn稚 hold this exclusivity anymore, but it is
still a nice read, mistakes aside.

As I have posted before, I will most like will post again, I challenge anyone,
especially those with purely negative comments, to put out a better magazine.
I will be the first in line to buy it!

Finally, as supposedly terrible has the magazine is, the publisher, Clyde
Newton, knows more about sumo that anyone I know. Fact. The guy is born and
raised in Japan, his entire life. This alone would make him a strange bird.
Though he may not make a great first impression to some, if you sit down and
have beer or two with the guy, you will find that he is fountain of cool sumo
information, not to mention, pleasant to talk to.

Aloha,
Kawika
