RE: Help: TV Japan English commentary (fwd)
While not a Canadian subscriber, I do watch TV Japan on Dish Network.
I get the TV Japan schedule mailed to my house each month. This is
free to TV Japan subscribers and can be obtained by calling TV Japan
at 1-877-885-2726. As this is a toll-free number, I don't know if it
works from Canada. If it doesn't you might try sending a note with
your name and address to TVJapan@TVJapan.net. Be forewarned that the
program guide is 12 pages (actually 3 11x17 pages printed both sides,
folded and stapled to make a 12 page pamphlet) that is mostly (10
pages) in Japanese. The schedule is given in English on pages 10 and
11 at the back of the pamphlet.)
Anyway, according the the schedule, the following programs are
bilingual:
Monday through Friday:
** NHK News at 7 (0600 EDT; 0300 PDT) - also airs Saturday and Sunday
** Repeated (0700 EDT; 0400 PDT) - also airs Saturday
** NHK News 10 (0900 EDT; 0600 PDT)
** Business Frontline (1225 EDT; 925 PDT)
One word of caution, Business Frontline is preceeded by NHK Newswatch
(1200 EDT; 0900 PDT) which is broadcast in English. So if you tune in
early, you may catch that program and think the situation has been
fixed when in fact it might not have been.
Hope this helps. (If you do get the program guide, be forewarned, it
is mostly in Japanese (10 pages) with a 2 page English schedule at the
end.)

Subject: Help: TV Japan English commentary
Does anyone know if they show ANY other programming
between now and Nagoya which has an alternate
soundtrack?
