Trivia - Intai

Some of the data on important (Rikishi who made Makushita) Rikishi who
retired.

By the way, Moti - Nakao did not win the Jonidan Yusho in July 2000 - it was
Hakunoryu of Izutsu-beya who again is back in Jonidan.

He missed all basho from Hatsu 1993 until his triumphant return in Kyushu
1994 due to injury. He fell off the banzuke for 5 tournaments (almost all
of 1994). He made it back to Makushita pretty quickly after that but then
bounced around between lower Makushita and Sandanme.

Highest Rank: Makushita 8
Looks like injury derailed this former college star(?) early in his career.
His debut was makekoshi and he fell straight to Jonidan from there due to
injury. He did battle back - but further injuries made him fall again and
again. He finished in Jonidan. (So far his career looks similar to current
Musashigawa-beya former Tsukedashi Yamauchi who just achieved a 6-1 in
Jonidan).

Chiyononada
Kokonoe-beya
Hatsudohyo: 1998 Haru (same as Taka, Ake, Kaio, Waka, etc.)
Recent: 199-174-61 .534
Highest Rank: Makushita 26
Jonidan Yusho in Kyu 1997.
Recently fell all the way to Jonokuchi before retiring this tournament.

Hope this helps some of you fill in some blanks and achieve some closure
when wondering what happened to some of the former lower division yusho
winners!
