Kintaro's Asian subcontinent Jungyo

Kintaro has completed the Mumbai, India portion of the Asian subcontinent Jungyo. Yesterday Kintaro wandered by a Bollywood shoot, where directors and agents tried to woo your Woodstock correspondent to join their troop -- "You could be a big star!" "I already am... just ask my mother."

Forgive my foray into Jonosuke's realm as I pass along a newspaper article. I read (in horror) the following in the April 8, 2001 Sunday Times of India:
>>>>>>>>>>>>
A massive frame of 280 kilograms standing high at 217.5 centimeters, superstar Sumo wrestler and Japanese entertainer, Konishiki, thought Kerala's marshal art a superb show of agility.
The former Sumo wrestling champ visited the Indian School of Marshal Art here on Friday and sat through the 2-hour demonstration of various feats in "Kalaripayat", Karala's marshal art and body language handed down through the generations. Having found the tying of dothi around his waist a knotty proposition, the sumo champ rather sat watching his younger colleague, Kyokodozan, trying his hand at 'Kalaripayat'. The 20 disciples of Kalari guru, Balachandran, stood in awe when their master and the Japanese tried to outsmart each other. Kyokodozan obeyed the Indian style of touching the Guru's feet before the show. The Japanese learned a lot on various tricks ancient Malayalees used. For his part, Balachandran agreed that the Japanese' 'vice-like grip has the strength of a giant to crush one to death'.
Konishiki found two things uncomfortable in India: the crowd and the heat. When the "Gulliver" arrived among 'Lilliputians' in Trivandrum airport, he found oglers and the heat unbearable. Exhausted, he had to be put on a platform of ice slabs before he could move out to the Kovalam hotel. There, again to his misery, the hotel employees and media people appeared measuring him from every angle. A fracas followed and later settled with a condition to take snaps and leave them alone. The Kovalam Asoka hotel has made special preparations to meet the "gigantic" needs of the star customer.

A platform of ice slabs?!?! Ugghh... Again, too much cake, not enough keiko.

Kintaro has moved on to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Tonight he will perform a dohyo-iri at Hilltop Park in Karachi before joining the local lads in a Pakistani wrestling match. Stay tuned.

Kintaro!
