able Yokozuna in ranking (presently Takanohana) rather than one who has had
to retire!
Sounds like the importance of getting the fans in is more important than the
Shinto spirits to me.

(BTW I admire Waka immensely and this is a general point rather than one
relating to him. Furthermore I have no objection to Waka performing normal
dohyo-iri during what is turning out to be his farewell jungyo, only the
offering one, given the Kyokai's recent traditionalist stance on other
religious issues.)
