A picture of the tsuya (wake/deathwatch) yesterday in Sapporo for Daishoho
(real name Masami Murata) in today's Nikkan sports:

About 300 people attended: the parents, Tatsunami-oyakata (Asahiyutaka) and
other persons in close relation to him. The place was packed with flowers
from Akebono, Mainoumi, who was a fellow student (same year) at the sumo
club of the Nihon university (Nichi-Dai) and others.
A few days before his death he had expressed the wish to to go back to
Sapporo and listen to the school anthem, thus the anthem of the Hokkai-high
was played before the ceremony.
A picture from his Makunouchi time was chosen for the display, placed in
his coffin among other things he liked was a CD of singer Maki Oguro (she
is from Sapporo as well) and a catalog of the latest
(Daimler-Chrysler-)Benz models.
His father, who had taken care of him in the hospital in Tokyo since
September, said "With this large number of people coming for him, Masami is
a lucky man" and bowed to the mourners one by one.
His buddhist name in death was chosen as Daizen-in Shoho-shigo-koji (-in
and -koji are usual endings for such names, like -san with a person's name).
Daizen (different from the Shikona Daizen, Dai- and Shoho- like Daishoho)
for daishizen: (vast) nature - because he was raised in the vast nature of
Hokkaido.
His older brother Masato told that the burial place is planned to be in his
home town of Sapporo.
The mourning ceremony (kokubetsu-shiki) has taken place today in Sapporo.
