Re: SUMO question; Scar of Akinoshima
Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong (and I know you will), But I
remember a match around '91 or '92 between Akinoshima and Konishiki where
Aki was being backed out by Konishiki. Aki had both hands on Konishiki's
belt and when they got to rice bails, Aki tried to throw Konishiki by
literally picking him up off the dohyo (an amazing feat in itself). He
didn't quite get Konishiki over to the side enough and the big guy landed
right on top of Aki. Ouch! To my best recollection, that is when he injured
his shoulder. Does anyone else remember this match?
