Re: And even more answers....

Usually, Doreen has better information than I do, but this time, I feel I need to
correct Doreen's comment about "the old master" of Wakamatsu-beya.

Well-loved Ichinoya decided to be a rikishi at Wakamatsu-beya when Wakamatsu
Oyakata was former Sekiwake Fusanishiki, who is my all time favorite rikishi. I
know some fact about him, probably more than most people.

If he still lives today, he would be 63 years old. If he was healthy enough, he
would be Wakamatsu Oyakata even now. He was born on January 3, 1936 in Chiba-ken.
And later he was adopted by gyoji Shikimori Kindayu VII. His nickname was "Tanned
Bullet" for his dark skin color and his powerful and speedy dashing tachiai. As
soon as he was promoted to Maku(no)uchi from Juryo, he earned Kanto-sho with 11-4
record, and his own commercial movie for nation-wide theaters was made by one of
the major film production company, Daiei. Of course, he was the main actor.
He took over Wakamatsu-beya when his shisho reached the retirement age of 65. He
became extremely ill and too weak to stay active as an Oyakata in March, 1990, and
he sold the Wakamatsu-beya and Myoseki to former Ozeki Asashio. He was only 54
years old. He passed away on July 21, 1993, at age 57.

If you read Japanese, please visit my Fusanishiki's Page at:

for more detailed records of him.

He was a giant killer and he recorded about even against both Yokozuna Taiho and
Yokozuna Kashiwado.

Imagine, all the people living for today...living life in peace...
sharing all the world...You may say I am a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will live as one. (John Lennon)
